We answer questions from bloggers all the time… The most common one is "How do I backup pages on TypePad?". So being the technical guys we are, we saw some documentation about a handy plugin for Firefox named ScrapBook. We installed it and put it to the test. And you know what? This works for every social website we tried!

ScrapBook is a good way to keep all that stuff you have on any number of sites safe with a local copy that your internet backup can automatically archive for you. With one program! It just saves it. No command lines, fancy plugins or holding your tongue just right. If bad things happen to one of your sites, you’ve got the content.

How you ask? Here’s how we did it.

A First, go to the ScrapBook download page (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/427). Click the Install Now button (green) and restart Firefox when instructed.

B Once Firefox has restarted, you’re ready to use ScrapBook.

C Surf somewhere you’d like to scrapbook. Once you’re there, on the menu, select Capture Page As.

D Use "Capture Page As" to set the depth of links you want to copy. This is a important! This is how all the links on your page get automatically backed up. You wouldn’t be able to copy those extra pages if the depth is set to zero. You’d be able to if it’s set to 1. But if it is set to 2, you will save all the linked pages and so on.

E After you’ve selected the different options, click Capture. You’ve now saved a copy on your computer! Now, go to the ScrapBook menu and click Show in Sidebar. The captured pages are listed in plain view.

So, what do we have so far? You now have a local copy of all the content on your FaceBook, etc. page. So if anything goes south, your covered. But like Billy Mays always says… "But Not only this, we have more".

If you have a internet backup product like OPENRSM Cloudbackup on your computer just make sure that it’s configuration has your personal files selected for backup. This way all your computers essential files are backed up and your social website content is too. And Firefox runs on windows, Mac, and Linux all the same. Not only will your computer have a full online backup, but your social websites will be too.

The local police is who you usually associate the phrase "To Serve and Protect".But your photos, documents, and other files can be protect with a great option of safe media free storage. Internet Attached Storage can protect and store your personal information in a location other than your home, office, or on that USB stick in your pocket.

Although your computer files are safe from many threats, there is still the danger of flood or fire, or computer related damage, like hard drive failure, viruses, or human error damaging your data. Computer files are difficult to recover in the best of circumstances.Theft of your laptop is a very real danger.

A inexpensive and practical solution is Internet Attached Storage. Your files are encrypted and transferred for storage to keep your data private, but accessible by you. Password protection is always provided for your security.

Key considerations when using Internet Attached Storage. Some helpful guidelines include:

Set frequent backups

The more often you backup your files, the less likely you will lose information. Best of breed Internet Attached Storage includes network drive and file synchronization.

Keep your files

Though Internet Attached Storage is very secure, it’s both convenient and smart to keep your local files local. Therefore making it easy to synchronize data to your Internet Attached Storage area.

Make your files findable

It makes no sense to store files online or otherwise if you can’t find what you need, when you need it. Internet Attached Storage has a file/folder structure that mirrors your own disk. It’s a good thing to do so.

Keep it secure

Online storage accounts require a password to access them. Always keep your username and password safe so your personal files aren’t compromised.

You don’t want to have to reconstruct banking data, bemoan the loss of family photos, tax returns, and important documents. And getting to this data from anywhere is a key element of being able to beat the competition. Data to consider synchronizing to Internet Attached Storage include:

Pictures

Home Movies

Audio

Accounting Information

Word Documents

Documentation

Internet Attached Storage has advanced beyond online backup to provide features like synchronization and network drive while protecting your data.

Which Internet Attached Storage product do we like? We particularly like the features, cost, and reliability of OPENRSM CloudBackup. It gives a great balance of features that go further than online backup that is particularly cost effective. We can’t say enough good about it.
